Take it Easy

Playing golf

Northern Ireland has a modern, dynamic side. When it comes to sports and activities, there’s something to satisfy even the most energetic and adventurous of spirit. It’s also got a cool, contemporary social scene and a vibrant nightlife of trendy restaurants, clubs, theatres and pubs.

Take golf for example. There are more than 90 courses to choose from, with varying degrees of difficulty to suit everyone from the skilled exponent to the high-handicapper. Northern Ireland’s finest links courses are held in particularly high esteem at international level. Our two finest links courses, Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, have hosted many elite international events such as the British Open and British Seniors Open. They regularly feature in top golfing polls across the world – indeed Royal County Down was recently voted the best golf course in the world outside the US by Planet Golf Magazine.

Some of our Olympic guests may like to take it easy by angling. The good news is that Northern Ireland is regarded as one of the finest angling destinations in Europe, whether for sea angling, coarse or game fishing. Add to this our wide choice of unspoilt locations, idyllic scenery, unrivalled hospitality and good value, and it all makes for a great reason to stay here.
