Getting Acclimatised

getting Acclimatised

While our differences from other UK centres may make us an attractive and appealing place to stay, our environmental and cultural similarities to London make us a viable and valuable, training and acclimatisation location.

Our mild temperate climate is very much in line with that of London. This means that the complex process of acclimatisation can be undertaken successfully in Northern Ireland’s PGTCs, so as to reduce physiological strain and improve each athlete’s performance potential.

What is more, because we share commonality of language, currency and law, our Olympic visitors will have the opportunity to become familiar with many aspects of the way of life they will experience when in London.

Nor shall our visitors have to compromise on issues of food or faith. Northern Ireland is a multi-cultural society, with chefs from around the world who can cater for any dietary requirement. Moreover, we are a multi-faith society, with places of worship for all religions.
